Opening Day 2012, Washington D.C.

The Nats won opening day on a wild pitch in the 10th inning. After 7 games, the Nationals sit atop the Eastern Division at 5-2. All is well in Mudville. Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post describes the final play:

After he played what he considered one of the worst games of his life, Ryan Zimmerman decided for himself that he would try to end it. As he stood on third base in the 10th inning, a 55-foot splitter dribbled away from the catcher. Roger Bernadina threw up his hand in the batter’s box and told him to stop. Zimmerman bolted.
